1 From the bus-stop (GR482 366) at Crispin Hall, walk up Leigh Rd ascending slightly 150m to cross-roads by large pink house. Go ahead to the R of pink house and after 100m as road bears R, go L (SP Victoria Club) for 100m and then bear R alongside club building for 250m past cricket pitch to reach road at head of a cul-de-sac. Bear L to path between two wooden fences 50m to another road then straight ahead into Wilton Close and at the end follow the tarmac path to reach a concrete path and road. [1.0Km]
2 (GR489 359) Cross road with care and go R 100m to Chindit Avenue and 40m beyond, go L (SP Public Footpath) through kissing gate and along broad grassy track, keeping ditch and the buildings of Millfield School(1) on L. After 150m go through pedestrian gate, cross small bridge and follow path 200m with fence/hedge on L through several gates to reach road. Go R for 30m then L through metal gate and bear slightly L across field 150m to stile by metal gate, then ahead beneath power cable 100m to hedge gap. Go ahead 100m, now with hedge on L to cross sleeper bridge and pedestrian gate. Continue with hedge on R ascending gently 350m to gate, then go L and follow fence 50m bearing R then L to hedge gap and gate. Here go R with hedge on L 200m to road [1.5Km]
3 (GR494 347) Go L 600m to entrance to Wootton House and just beyond bear L. After 200m go L along Back Lane and after 150m at sharp R bend by cottage, go L along track. After 100m bear R with wall on L. Go 75m through gate and 75m with hedge on L to where hedge ends. Cross track, then bear 45 degrees L 200m to gate in L corner, then ahead 200m with hedge on L past several large oak trees to gate into wooded area. After 50m, cross bridge then go ahead on track past Millfield sport pitches 450m to road. Cross and go ahead along tarmac track. After 170m at wooden gate by swimming pool, go R through Millfield campus for 500m past sports facilities to road. Go R 250m along enclosed footpath and down steps to junction at traffic lights [2.9Km]
4 (GR489 364) Go R past school buildings and after 500m just beyond derestriction sign go L along track to follow 100m to bear R by a large barn, then after 250m L at Eastmead cottage. After 200m at next R bend go ahead through gate and go very sharp L for 60m keeping hedge on L to another gate. Continue keeping hedge on L through two more gates and just before end of third field, go L over stile then R with wooden fence on L. At grassy area, continue ahead to pass allotments on the L to reach a stile by metal gate. Cross to tarmac track and follow 100m to reach a road and turn R [2.0Km]
5 (GR490 368) Follow the road 400m past Strode Swimming Pool and at T-junction turn R to pass Strode College(2) and church. At mini-roundabout continue ahead into The Boardwalk and at the end cross the large stone bridge and bear L along rhyne to reach kissing gate. Go L 300m with rhyne on the L to pass through 2 kissing gates and steps to a road. Go L along tarmac path for 500m passing large roundabout (SP Somerton) and along Glaston Road to reach mini-roundabout by the Street Inn. Bear R (SP Town Centre) passing the impressive Quaker Meeting House(3) Clarks(4) offices and Clarks Village(5). After 450m turn L into Leigh Road to reach the bus-stop. For Yeovil and Somerton it’s on L, for Glastonbury and Wells it’s opposite [2.2Km]
FOR A SHORTER WALK Distance 4.2 Km/2.6 miles
Follow to the end of point 1. Turn L and follow to the traffic lights. Go R and immediately L along Bove Moor Road. At the end swing L into Strode Road. Continue from point 5.

3 Quaker Meeting House is Grade II listed and dates from the 1850s on the site of a 17th century building
4 Clarks, a Quaker family, started a business in sheepskin rugs, slippers and boots and shoes in 1825.
C&J Clark still has headquarters in Street. The factory buildings were converted into :-
