2.1 (GR 539 122) From St Michael’s Church, East Coker, head down the lane past the almshouses and at church gates go L along tarmac road ascending gently. After 300m by houses go L (SP Isles Lane) and ascend gently keeping fence on L. At the end of field continue ahead and at the top of the ridge, bear slightly R to R of oak tree to locate a stile into path through woods to reach steps down to a road (this is Isles Lane). Cross to a stile and follow L boundary and after 150m where hedge bears L continue ahead to far R corner of field to reach a lane. Go L for 200m then cross stile on R and follow track to R of stand of trees in the dip, then bear slightly R to metal gate to road. Continue ahead through Bristol gate then ahead to hedge gap then aim slightly R of far corner of field to another Bristol gate and road . Go L 200m and just beyond Old School House, go L through pedestrian gate and then R to follow track as it winds L then R and through double gate into large field. Go R 50m alongside watercourse then bear slightly L across field to locate sleeper bridge. Go straight across the next field to a hedge gap then across the next field roughly parallel to power lines to another footbridge. Continue with hedge on R to a white gate at farm. Continue straight ahead across two fields and cross white gate on R to reach road. Go L 300m to junction then L 200m to entrance to Manor Farm.
2.2 (GR 506 097) Fork R 200m then just beyond cottages go R along track (SP Monarch’s Way) and follow to bear R with hedge on L. After 150m go L along narrow path and follow with care as it crosses the railway line via two metal stiles then go R close to railway line to bridge over water. Head towards far corner to locate path through wooded area to reach a kissing gate then follow clear path across two fields and a short track to reach Whitevine Farm. Just beyond farm go L and follow track as it bears R ascending gently 350m to pass through double gate then descending 200m to sharp R turn beneath power cables. Go L between red & white poles through gate and then continue generally on L side of field 250m to a gate close to a water trough. Continue ahead 300m to join hedge on R to a gate on R. Pass through and follow stony track 300m to farm buildings of Wyke Farm. Go L and the R round buildings and continue up concrete drive for 300m passing imposing farmhouse to reach gateway where drive bears L. Here, go ahead over stile and follow with fence on L up boggy field. Where fence goes L, bear slightly R on faint path to reach stile (but turn around for view as far as the Mendips and Salisbury Plain). Continue 100m through wooded area then ahead 200m to wooden gate to road. Go R and follow 500m to junction then ahead 250m to junction with A356 at Winyards Gap.
2.3 (GR 491 062) From junction by pub, go along minor road between pub and its garden towards Chedington 300m to reach signed footpath on R. Go through gate, head diagonally L then bear R to follow marker posts. Go straight across next 2 fields. In next field bear to R of 3 large trees and aim for gate in bottom R corner. Follow R edge of next 2 fields, with start of R Parrett on R. At end of 2nd field go through gate and turn R, (SP South Perrott), and then after 30m go into next field and bear L, aiming for gate halfway along fence on L. Go through two gates and keep to L hand edge of next field (seating area on R) to gate in L hand corner of field. Continue ahead to cross bridge over river to another gate opposite to reach a lane. The lane continues along the river bed so it is advisable to take signed permissive path through gate on L and go along R hand edge of field to rejoin the lane via a pedestrian gate. Continue along lane to reach road and turn R and then immediately L on signed path to reach gate into South Perrott churchyard. Leave churchyard by main iron gateway and walk down road to reach main road (A356). Go R along footpath 110m passing pub then cross road with care to go along Pipplepen Lane and follow 850m to Pipplepen Farm. Go L along track 300m to cross bridge, then along narrower enclosed track. After 200m at sharp L bend go R through gate then L aiming for large hedge gap. Go straight ahead to metal gate and then ahead again to the leftmost metal gate ahead.
