Along Bancombe Road to Westcombe, two wooded areas and return via South Hill
Generally easy going but maybe muddy in places. A busy road to cross.

Exit through the rear of the car park through a metal squeeze and a short track. At the road, go L for 60m then R along Queens Road for 100m. At junction, go L along Behind Berry and after 200m at Fire Station, cross with care and go ahead along the narrower section of Behind Berry. After 350m where road bears sharp R, go ahead along Bancombe Road (blocked off to vehicles). Continue ascending gently for 700m passing the entrance to the Trading Estate to reach a mini-roundabout. Continue ahead 150m and fork L (SP Westcombe) 250m to another junction. Continue ahead ascending gently for 1Km and when tarmac ends go ahead along stony track (SP Bridleway) descending gently 200m. Just beyond the dip in the track go L through waymarked gate and continue 450m with hedge on R to reach a sleeper bridge and gate. Cross second field, still with hedge on R 300m to reach Bristol gate, then ahead 150m along enclosed track to reach the busy B3153. Go R with great care 80m, cross to driveway then bear L behind house to locate waymarked gate and then a kissing gate. Continue ahead 150m with hedge on R and where hedge goes sharp R continue 200m along faint path aiming to the R of Saints’ Bushes Plantation ahead. Go through small hedge gap and follow path 200m roughly parallel to (and 10m from) the edge of the woods to reach and cross a high stile. Continue 350m with hedge on R to reach a metal gate and stile and a track. Go L and follow track 350m almost to the end of Long Sutton Plantation on L and ascend waymarked track on L roughly parallel to (and 10m from) the edge of the woodland for 400m. At crossing track go L 200m and bear R to follow narrower path 250m to junction. Go ahead through waymarked wooden gate and keep hedge on R 150m through a garden to reach tarmac of Windyridge Lane and continue 700m to junction. Go L and follow downhill 300m to sharp R bend and a further 100m to junction and continue straight ahead 350m to crossroads at Badgers Cross. Go straight ahead 450m to crossroads and go L (low bridge sign) descending gently 800m to pass under railway bridge. Bear R ascending gently 300m through modern housing to reach T junction. Go R 200m past the post box and the car park is across the road.
